Bespoke Shooting Suits
The cutting and fitting of the sleeves is absolutely crucial for taking high birds or a right-left at partridge. I cut all my bespoke shooting suits with excellent swing capability through the sleeves. A well cut sleeve with a high armhole, combined with action pleats, or a central box pleat, will give the required lift into the arms.
Shooting for sport or hunting for food is a British tradition as old as the hills. And inextricably linked with the British countryside as Land Rovers and wellies. The British weather isn’t always kind to the outdoorsman, so it’s important that your bespoke shooting suit is as comfortable and warm as possible, but that doesn’t mean it can’t look stylish too. By trusting the experts at Desmond Merrion, you can be confident of a stylish and well-made outfit.
We don’t believe in the kind of stuffy exclusivity you might expect from a high-quality tailor, and we think tailoring should be accessible to all. We welcome you like an old friend. You’ll have the opportunity to browse our excellent selection of fabrics to choose exactly what you want. And we’ll make sure it’s made exactly to your measure. We have a large array of fabrics on offer, from the modern to the traditional, so you can have it all with your bespoke shooting suit.
I’ve had numerous suits, jackets and trousers and the difference is staggering. He will guide you through the process in his typical Yorkshire no-nonsense manner and you’ll finish with a suit second to none. Clean lines, a collar that stays put on your neck and a lapel roll smooth as you like. You will not be disappointed.
