Seam inside the sleeve shows the coat was ‘bagged’ out and factory made.

The picture on the left shows one of the coat sleeves turned inside out.

No tailor, and I mean no tailor in the world uses this method to make suits. it is 100% a factory way to do things.

Tailors ALWAYS finish these areas with delicate hand stitching and NEVER by machine.

What a load of absolute rubbish !!

The picture left shows one of the worst cuff finishing jobs I have seen for a long time.

Ask yourself this, would a tailor of any quality let this out of his workroom ? Of course he wouldn’t.

Tailored Suits

This poor chap thought he was dealing with a tailor but the reality was it was only a Manchester middleman, Established 40 years I might add. All the pictures of the blue suit is their handiwork. Beggars belief.

The picture of the light grey coat to the below right shows the imitation machine ‘hand’ stitching.

This is machine stitching for the finished coat edges.

This stitching is bold, deep, pronounced and often not really on the edge as you can see. Real tailored suits are not finished this way.

If you also look at this collar and lapel you can see the lapel is not sharp at the tip, it’s round and badly executed.

The general size, shape and angle of this collar and lapel is totally wrong. This is an offering from a company who have set themselves up in York.

This is the coat as it sits on its hanger. You don’t have to be a genius to see this is poor work.

Tailor made ?

Look at the state of the sleeves, the chest, the fullness. This is bad work.

My father would turn in his grave.  Make your own mind up with these pictures.

Buttonholes cut in the shop after it left the factory.

The dream boats selling this stuff are clever and will go to great lengths to part you from your cash.

Having nice premises, offering you whisky, have magazines lying around, all the trappings to make you feel comfortable, them convincing, and tactics designed to distract you from their lack of tailoring skills.

Anyone can read an old tailoring book, frequent various tailoring forums picking up the ‘lingo’ to sound credible. If you are in a tailors, you should quite rightly be expecting a tailor to make your suit.

Hopefully these pictures will help you get your money back, yes, get your money back. You have been mis-sold, end of.

Desmond Merrion Bespoke Tailor

My old tailoring label simply said Desmond Merrion Bespoke and had a Union Jack in-between the Desmond Merrion and Bespoke.

But, alas all thing must come to an end. “Whoa Dude !” “You haven’t changed your label have you !” ….Said in my best Keanu Reeves impression, which is obviously pants. Well darlings yes I have actually ….. !

I have had my old tailoring label for about 16/17 years, and to be honest I liked it, hell I STILL like it ! ” So why change it numb nuts ? ” I hear you shout.

Well, an old pal of mine that owns Dugdale Bros in Huddersfield, Keith ….. well Mr C as I started calling him some 20 odd years ago and now every man and his dog also does the same, is frequently in my place nosing around at this and that and we always have enjoyed very fruity conversation about the dream boats and the non payers within the trade, but on this particular occasion Mr C turned to me and said “Des, that label just isn’t good enough anymore for the quality of the garments you make !”

Well, bugger me I thought ! Where has that come from ! So anyway we have a little chat about my label and I then tell him to go and pester some other poor unfortunate lonely soul as I am busy.

But after he has gone ‘the little old grey cells start creaking into action’ Bloody hell he’s right !

Anyway, let’s get on with it, so here it is my new label.
